Non-scientific achievements

In the 80's and early 90's I have published various programs for home computers, and some solutions and tips for computer role playing games. The golden era of home computers however is long over, and now I program only for professional purposes. But I'm still enjoying a game now and then...

Programs

All programs can still be run on a modern PC with the help of emulators. I recommend VICE for the VIC-20 and the C64 and WinUAE for the Amiga. If you're just interested in C64 music, I recommend the SIDPlay sound chip emulator.

My Amiga programs are public domain and can be downloaded for example from Aminet. I had composed the title music of Dungeon myself, and you can download the authentic SIDPlay version or a slightly brushed-up MIDI version. The SIDPlay version is also part of the High Voltage SID Collection.

Game material

Up to now I have completed more than 100 role playing, strategy, adventure and other games. If you like you can see the list.

Now I mostly play Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPGs), which cannot be 'completed' like solo player games. Instead, you continuously develop a character in the game world. Up to now I have played the following MMORPGs:

EverQuest II: Jadefire on Splitpaw server, Level 90 Paladin, 200 achievement points, retired
Final Fantasy XI: Argenta on Ramuh server, Level 75 Paladin, Bastok and Windurst Rank 10, retired
Lord of the Rings Online: Argentum on Eldar server, Level 75 Guardian, retired
Star Wars The Old Republic: Argentum on Hydian Way server, Level 35 Jedi Guardian
World of Warcraft: Argenta on Emerald Dream server, Level 85 Paladin

Computers on school

On highschool I actively participated in the phase in which computer started to appeal a broader public. In the beginning we worked on Apple ][ computers, but later a set of PCs was acquired. We programmed in BASIC, LOGO and PASCAL.

I started a school magazine for the newly founded computer working group (the InfAG-Journal) and then for the computer science course (the Info-Journal). They are archived here. In the last year on school I worked within a project group designing a text adventure game.

Also, I made a short practical at the GMD (now part of the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft), where I wrote a small ELAN program on a Siemens computer for parsing and evaluating mathematical terms.
