Beginning of August there was the wine and fishermen feast in Reichenau at Bodensee, which I joined with a few colleagues. The opportunity of having already come halfway to the Mediterranean Sea I took to continue with a vacation in Nice.
Nice, the metropolis of the Cote d'Azur, certainly offers a beautiful coast at best weather. But besides this it also offers a very nice Old Town and a lot of beautiful buildings which keep the spirit of the Belle Epoque alive. There are also a lot of museums and shops to pass the time.
I also made two trips with the car. The first trip led me east along the coast through Monaco, Menton and Ventimiglia, and then to the north into the mountains and Saorge. The second trip led to the parfume city Grasse and into glamorous Cannes.
For the trip back home I chose an Alpes crossing through the Gorges de Daluis, Briancon and Geneva.
